From a Kitchen Hobby to an Award-Winning Business
Hello, I’m Leigh — the passionate cake designer behind Heavenleigh Cakes. My journey into the world of sugar craft began back in 2013 when I started creating cakes for family and friends. What started as a simple hobby quickly became an all-consuming passion.
After attending a professional baking course, I knew this was more than a hobby — it was my calling. I launched Heavenleigh Cakes in February 2014 and haven’t looked back since.
Working from my home kitchen in Basildon, Essex, I pour my heart into every single creation. I’m now a fully registered, insured, and health & food safety certified wedding cake designer — committed to crafting beautiful bespoke cakes using only the finest local and organic ingredients.
While I specialise in luxury wedding cakes, I still love creating stunning celebration cakes for birthdays, anniversaries, and every special moment in between.

Get in touch with your ideas, date and vision. I’ll arrange a free phone or email consultation where we’ll discuss designs, flavours and bring your ideas to life together.
Face-to-Face Meetings
During the quieter winter months, I offer in-person design consultations for couples who’d like to meet me and discuss their requirements in detail. Please note these are limited to the bride and groom. After our meeting, I’ll send your formal quote via email.
Wedding Cake Sample Boxes
Twice a year during the winter season, I offer wedding cake sample boxes containing five delicious flavours selected for you. Dates are announced on the website and social media — keep an eye out!
